APPLETON, Wis. (August 17, 2021) – Valley Transit, the public transportation service in the Fox Cities, is temporarily adjusting its fixed route bus schedule. Beginning August 30, Valley Transit will dedicate one bus to each of its fixed routes. Previously, a few routes had additional departures during the busiest time of the day.

The decision to reduce the number of buses running each route was made due to lower ridership, a downward trend since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, and fewer bus drivers on staff.

“We know this change will greatly affect those who rely on Valley Transit,” Ron McDonald, general manager of Valley Transit, said. “This decision was not made lightly; we analyzed ridership data for all of our routes and made schedule adjustments where the least impact would be felt by our community of riders.”

The adjusted schedules will remain in effect until further notice.
