Whether we’re ready or not, summer is officially coming to an end. With the school year nearly here, it is time to start planning how to get students to class and after-school activities. We are here to help you get ready to ride Valley Transit in three easy steps:

1. Plan your route

You can use Google Maps to begin planning your routes, and we encourage you to call Valley Transit at (920) 832-5800 with any questions. In addition to the many routes Valley Transit serves on a daily basis to connect the Fox Cities, Tripper routes are added during the school year to better meet the travel needs of students.

2. Show or swipe your ID

Through generous partnerships, middle and high school students in Appleton’s public and parochial schools can ride FREE when they show their student ID to the driver as they board the bus. The same goes for college students from Fox Valley Technical College and new this year, Lawrence University, just swipe your ID in the farebox to ride for free!

3. Get ready to ride

If you haven’t ridden Valley Transit before, or it’s been a while since your last trip, review our How to Ride video, FAQs, and other additional resources. Make sure to download the Valley Transit app, too. The app allows you to track buses in real time and you can zoom in to see all the bus stops located along your route.  Not only does this zoom feature help you know where and when you can hop on the bus, but it also helps you see where and when it is best to pull the stop cord to hop off.

Make it a great start to the school year with Valley Transit!
