Valley Transit is once again proud to provide discounted fares and shuttle services to help the community celebrate Appleton’s Octoberfest, an event of the Fox Cities Chamber. On Saturday, September 30, the fare for all Valley Transit rides on any of its buses, including Octoberfest shuttle services, will be 25 cents.
This year there are three park-and-ride shuttle locations for Octoberfest attendees:
- Fox Valley Technical College at the North parking lot (map).
- Appleton East High School at the John Street parking lot (map).
- Goodwill Industries on Appleton Road (map).
The shuttles will operate from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on a continuous loop from the downtown Appleton Transit Center to the designated shuttle locations. Pick-up is expected approximately every 30 minutes but may be closer to 45-60 minutes during peak times due to heavy traffic in downtown Appleton.
“Octoberfest draws thousands of people to downtown Appleton; choosing to ride Valley Transit makes attending the event that much easier,” said Ron McDonald, general manager of Valley Transit. “Opting for the bus alleviates the hassle of finding parking downtown, and if you drink, you’re making a responsible choice to let us do the driving.”
